Report 2009: Analysis of drug residues and undesirable substances in farmed fish

Ingressbilde: Laks 12.08.10 NIFES has analysed the content of drug residues and other undesirable substances in farmed fish. No residues of illegal drugs were found in samples of farmed fish, and the level of approved drugs and other undesirable substances was below internationally accepted limits in all species of farmed fish investigated. Our surveillance activities document good seafood safety with respect to drug residues and other undesirable s in farmed fish.

Indication that seafood may help

Ingressbilde: Torsk ingressbilde 16.06.10 A balanced and varied diet is important for good health. Here seafood has a natural role, in the same way as fruit and vegetables. Nevertheless, our consumption of fish is still too low, despite the strong case that can be made for eating more.
